About the collection
The idea of motifs that appear to float comes from the lore of Jamdani on Dhaka muslin - a translucent cotton where motifs seemed suspended. That muslin didn’t survive, but the memory of how it felt did. We wanted that feeling back. So we worked with weavers who can now weave silk finer than cotton. Floating Garden is the result of that collaboration.
Craft Intelligence
Handwoven in Dainhat, West Bengal, where Jamdani, the technique of inserting additional thread to decorate cloth, is still woven from memory. Every garment uses unique motifs, each calculated and built manually - which is why the shapes never repeat exactly.
