This saree feels instantly familiar - soft, easy, and comforting. Collectors have called it “like my grandmother’s hugs”, "butter", "second skin" - that’s how soft it is. Handwoven from fine Bengal cotton, it’s breathable and light on the skin. The deep galaxy purple flatters easily - polished enough for work, rich enough for evenings out.
How to Style
The colour really pops when you wear it with a contrast colour- like gold jewellery or yellow blouse. If you want to wear it to work, pair it with a purple or neutral blouse. For the evening, wear a loose drape, it falls like second skin.
About the collection
The idea of motifs that appear to float comes from the lore of Jamdani on Dhaka muslin - a translucent cotton where motifs seemed suspended. That muslin didn’t survive, but the memory of how it felt did. We wanted that feeling back. So we worked with weavers who can now weave silk finer than cotton. Floating Garden is the result of that collaboration.
Craft Intelligence
Handwoven in Phulia, West Bengal, where looms sit sunk into the earth. The humid river air and the moisture trapped beneath the looms keep the fine cotton supple as it’s made. Here, the technique isn’t written - it lives in memory, passed from one weaver to the next. Woven with extremely fine strands of pure cotton, it’s featherlight, a quiet continuation of Bengal’s muslin mastery.
